Frequently asked.

What counts as a trace?+

One end-to-end agent or prompt run. Internal LLM calls, tools, and queries within a single run all roll up into that one trace.

Bring my own LLM keys?+

Yes. Bring your own provider creds and we orchestrate them — your provider bills you. Or route through our gateway with usage on your plan.

Upgrade or downgrade anytime?+

Yes. Upgrades prorate immediately. Downgrades apply at the end of the current billing cycle.

What if I hit the cap?+

New traces pause until next cycle, or upgrade instantly. We never charge overages without an explicit plan change.

SSO / SAML?+

Yes — Enterprise includes SSO, SAML, custom guardrails, dedicated support, and custom SLAs.

Self-hosted?+

On-premise and VPC deployments under the Custom plan. Talk to sales for a scoped evaluation.

Is there a free plan?+

Yes. The Free plan includes 500 traces per month, 3 active agents, 1 data source, and community support — no credit card required.

Do you offer a trial for paid plans?+

The Free plan acts as an indefinite trial — every feature critical to evaluating PromptRails is available there. Paid tiers do not auto-enrol you in a trial; you only pay when you explicitly upgrade.
